The APWA is a professional organization whose purpose is to improve the public works profession. Fundraising events throughout the year including the annual golf outing and educational seminars support the scholarship program. The program was formed to support the students financially and provide a network of professionals for the students to utilize in their career development. Many of these scholarship recipients are currently working in internship positions with various municipalities and engineering firms throughout the Fox Valley region.

A quote from one of the recipients:

“I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for this great award. Receiving this scholarship for the past four years was beyond any of my expectations. This is an honor I will never forget. All the members, especially those on the scholarship committee, have done so much for me during my college career. I greatly appreciate all the time and energy the branch is putting into helping future public works careers foster. I have the APWA to thank for not only giving me this scholarship, but also for helping me obtain my summer internships and helping to get my engineering career started.” Heather Ferstl, 4 year award recipient
