Huntley library renews tutoring service, adds job service

Two programs at the Huntley Area Public Library will aid students in school and provide assistance to adults looking for a job.

The library has renewed its tutoring service, HelpNow, and added a new service for job seekers called JobNow.

The HelpNow tutoring service will continue to offer students’ homework assistance and preparation for standardized tests. Students’ work one-on-one with a tutor to better understand the concepts they are studying, and receive assistance with subjects from math to English.

JobNow offers live interview and job-skills coaching, a resume lab, and around-the-clock access to career resources and an adult job skills learning center.

“People who have used HelpNow consistently indicate they’ve had a very positive learning experience,” Library Director Patrick McDonald said in a press release. “We expect the JobNow service to receive the same positive reviews from users.”

Both programs will be offered free through a donation from the library’s Friends Foundation.
