Man steals 8 rib-eye steaks from grocery store then flees in car, and more

These items were taken from reports released March 27 and April 4 by the Will County Sheriff’s Office, and information from the Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office and Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Criminal Trespass

  • A 19-year-old Homer Glen man from the 17700 block of Robert Emmett Drive is scheduled to appear in court April 27 on a charge of criminal trespass to a building stemming from an alleged Feb. 7 offense on the 17200 block of South Heritage Drive. He was booked into the Adult Detention Facility on March 26.

Domestic Violence

  • A 26-year-old Homer Glen woman from the 15100 block of West Schroeder Drive was booked into the Adult Detention Facility March 22 on a charge of domestic battery. Court hearing information was unavailable.

Theft

  • Several cables of copper wiring connected to the AT&T cell tower on the 15700 block of South Parker Road were reported taken March 20.

Motor Vehicle Burglary

  • Cash and an iPod were reported taken March 23 from two unlocked vehicles on the 13000 block of West Oakwood Court.
  • GPS units were reported taken March 23 from two unlocked vehicles on the 13000 block of West Mulranny Drive.

Crash

  • A 25-year-old Homer Glen man from the 13900 block of Chicago-Bloomington Trail was ticketed March 24 for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision after he lost control of his vehicle on the 14000 block of West Bruce Road and crashed into a tree.

DUI

  • A 23-year-old Homer Glen man from the 13900 block of Grenelefe Lane was arrested by Orland Hills Police for DUI around 2 a.m. March 10 after he allegedly crossed the center lane divider three times on the 9200 block of West 159th Street and then struck a roadside mailbox with his passenger-side mirror.

Retail Thefts

  • Eight rib-eye steaks and a 12-pack of beer were reported taken March 29 from a grocery store on the 14200 block of South Bell Road by an individual in his early 20s who reportedly fled in a white Nissan.
  • A copper spool was reported taken March 25 from a home-improvement store on the 13900 block of South Bell Road by two males who reportedly fled in a black Ford ZX2.
