Almost Home Kids provides a retreat for medically fragile children and their families

Almost Home Kids  was founded in 1992 by two moms from Hinsdale and Western Springs who felt there was no community support in place for children that require respite care, said president and CEO Debbie Grisko. “Children were growing up in hospitals because parents weren’t prepared to take them home,” Grisko said. “As community partners, we train parents to use the equipment and care for their children on their own.   1. This is an Amazing facility!! My grandson, Jude, is there and they take wonderful care of him and help my daughter to learn everything she needs to take care of him!

  2. This sounds like a marvelous facility. As a retired RN, I have worked in a similar place – they are a much needed place for families who have children with special needs.
