Metra rider hides in bathroom to avoid train fare, and more

The following items were taken from Hinsdale Police Department reports:


An 18-year-old from Westmont was charged with theft April 19 after a conductor notified police that he had not paid the train fare. The man was found hiding in the bathroom.

A backpack leaf blower was reported stolen from a truck in the 700 block of South Oak Street April 19.  It is valued at $500.


A person reported that a group of four drunk teens approached him about 11 p.m. April 20 in the 600 block of South County Line Road and battered him. He said one teen, who he knows, punched him in the face. Two others punched him while he was on the ground. The person who was battered sought medical attention. No arrests have yet been made.
