Prairie State Poetry Contest Seeks Submissions by June 8th

Highland Park Poetry presents the Prairie State Poetry Contest which is open to poets of all ages living, working or studying in Illinois. Monetary prizes may be awarded in three categories – Student, Adult Highland Park Resident and Adult Non-Highland Park Resident. Prize amounts in each category are $100 for 1st Place, $50 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd. There is no required theme but poems may not exceed 30 lines in length. Program Coordinator, Jennifer Dotson, urges "We're looking for your very best writing." Poet James Reiss (rhymes with peace) will judge the contest in its entirety.
