May 18: Open House for home-schooled students at CLC

Home schooled students and their families are invited to attend an Open House at the College of Lake County from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 18 in room T326 at the CLC Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

The open house will include a campus tour and information provided by college staff from admissions, advising, transferring, testing and more. Students and families can learn about CLC’s acceptance of home-school credentials and how to make a successful transition from home schooling to college workload. Formerly home-schooled CLC students will also be present to answer questions. Light refreshments will be available.

Like other students, home-schooled students are eligible to apply for the Honors Program with tuition-free classes and to participate in services offered by the counseling, advising and transfer center; writing and math centers; and peer mentors. Other campus life activities consist of more than 50 student clubs, including academic teams, speech team and Phi Theta Kappa honor society; performance opportunities in music, theatre and dance; 11 intercollegiate sports and study-abroad programs (from three weeks to a whole semester).
