Three art events—an open house, a pottery sale and a guest artist workshop—will be sponsored by the College of Lake County art department in April.

On Friday, April 13 as part of the opening reception for the 31st Annual CLC Student Art Competition, the art department will hold an open house from 6-8 p.m. in the following rooms: L029 (sculpture), L035 (ceramics), D104 (painting), D105 (photography), D106 (design), D107 (drawing) and D131 (digital media). Visitors may tour art classrooms and visit with faculty members about the large variety of art classes available at CLC.

On April 17 and 18, the student Community Clay Association will hold its spring ceramics Sale in the Atrium on the Grayslake campus, adjacent to the library. Hours are Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Money from the sale funds the visiting ceramic artist program, field trips and new equipment for the ceramics studio.

On April 20-21, visiting ceramic artist Ron Meyers will hold a workshop in the ceramics studio, room L035. Meyers is professor emeritus at University of Georgia and has exhibited his ceramics throughout the country.
