April 28: Come to Astronomy Day events at CLC

View the sky through powerful telescopes and enjoy a variety of educational astronomy activities on Astronomy Day, being held on Saturday, April 28 at the College of Lake County.

The event is free and open to the public of all ages and is being sponsored by the Lake County Astronomical Society and the CLC Astronomy Club. There will be a variety of free daytime events from noon to 4 p.m., plus an evening Star Party, your chance to see the Moon, Mars, Venus, Saturn, stars and other sky objects through a wide range of telescopes from 7-9 p.m. Some events are weather dependent.

Activities for children and adults will allow participants to capture views of sunspots and massive solar flares in special telescopes, tour a scale model of our solar system, make a comet, participate in a telescope clinic and much more. The astronomy society will have powerful telescopes available to view the Moon, Saturn, Mars, Venus and other celestial objects. Participants may sign up to win a telescope and other prizes.

Events will be held in and around the T Building at the CLC Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. For more information or directions, visit
