Elmhurst-based CyberKnife Center of Chicago has added Dr. Ommar HIa and Dr. Dennis Galinsky to its staff of physicians certified to treat patients with CyberKnife, a noninvasive full-body cancer treatment system. Both doctors underwent an extensive multi-phase training program required of radiation oncologists to receive CyberKnife certification.

A board-certified radiation oncologist, Dr. HIa received her training from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, one of the top training programs in radiation oncology. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Radiology and has expertise in treatment of breast and prostate cancers.

Dr. Galinsky received his medical degree from the University of Iowa and is board certified in radiation oncology. He is a founder and fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology and practices at the DuPage Oncology Center in Winfield, Ill.

“With the breadth of their experience, we know that Dr. HIa and Dr. Galinsky will make excellent additions to our team,” says Dr. Andy Su, medical director of CyberKnife Center of Chicago. “Our patients can only benefit as our team of radiation oncologists continues to grow.”

CyberKnife treats malignant and benign tumors and other medical conditions with high-dose radiation beams precisely aimed from different angles. The robotic technology moves around patients delivering targeted radiation and minimizing damage to healthy tissue. CyberKnife reduces treatment time, and most patients go home right after each procedure and resume normal activities.

In partnership with Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, Nuclear Oncology Medical Care and US Radiosurgery, CyberKnife Center of Chicago is located on EMHC’s Berteau Ave. campus. Contact CyberKnife Center of Chicago at (331) 221-2050 or www.chicagock.com for more information.
