Dad's Day-Focused Classes at Marcel's Culinary Experience, Glen Ellyn

In advance of Father's Day, Marcel's Culinary Experience is offering two classes that make great gifts — or just great activities — for special dads.

Dad's Night Out: Cooking with Beer (June 15, 6:30-9 p.m., $80 per person) is for dads and adult children who want to taste some great beers while preparing a meal together. Chef Paul Lindemuth will lead an evening of inspired beer tasting from Two Brother's Brewing Company (http://www.twobrosbrew.com/), and a menu infused with four different beer varieties. On the menu: Beer-Battered Frito Misto, Grilled Portabella Mushrooms with Porter/Scallion Marinade, Coffee Rubbed Lager Roasted Beef Brisket, and Stout Brownies.

For young cooks ages 8-12 and their dads, Chef Jamie Bordoshuk presents Kid's Class: Dad and Me (June 16, noon-1:30 p.m., $40 per person). Kids and dads roll up their sleeves and create a delicious midday meal, including Cheddar Cheeseburgers and Onion Sliders, Oven Roasted Seasoned Fries, and Tossed Garden Salad with Homemade Dressing.
