College of DuPage to Collect Items for Freedom From Hunger Food Drive

College of DuPage will begin collecting food on Monday, June 4, for the Freedom From Hunger food drive sponsored by Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Naperville.

The College will collect non-perishable food items through Wednesday, June 13, that will be delivered to the pantry on Thursday, June 14, which is both Flag Day and Freedom from Hunger day. Collection bins will be located in Human Resources, outside of the Library and main cafeteria, and in the lobbies of the Health and Science Center, Physical Education Center and Homeland Security Education Center.

COD is participating in the drive to promote a tobacco-free campus, which will start on Monday, Aug. 6. The College is asking for donations that are equal to the average cost of a pack of cigarettes, which is $5.50, or a carton, which is $50. COD is also participating as a team to see which organization collects the most food for Loaves and Fishes.
