On Friday April 27th, Debby Karton and Joel Babbitt representing Coast2Coast Rx Discount Cards, visited York Township Senior Center, 1502 South Meyers Road to discuss how the FREE discount prescription card works. While the card is generally for people without health insurance, in some cases it may offer better pricing than certain health insurance plans. So it is important for residents to compare pricing whether or not they have insurance. Plus, some medications might not be covered in health plans that are covered by the Coast2Coast Rx Card.

York Township has been making the Coast2Coast Rx Discount Card, a FREE prescription drug card, available to residents since August 2011. We are pleased to report that through March 31, 2012 over 650 prescriptions have been filled using the program. The cost of theses prescriptions without the Coast2Coast Rx Discount program would have been $38,930.44 but, because of this program, residents only paid $14,931.61. The Coast2Coast Prescription Discount program was able to save residents $23,998.83, a savings of 62%.

York Township Supervisor John W. Valle said, “We are very pleased with the results of our prescription discount program so far. We look forward to increased savings for our residents in the future. I encourage everyone to stop in at Township Hall to pick up your FREE Coast2Coast Rx Discount card today, if you have not done so already.”
