New iPhone/iPad Development and Advanced iPhone/iPad Application Courses at COD

College of DuPage will offer two new iPhone/iPad courses through its Computer Information Systems program this fall.
CIS 2592 is a four-hour course that introduces students to iPhone/iPad application programming and the use of Apple’s System Development Kit (SDK) to develop and deploy applications on iPhone/iPad. This course includes an overview of Objective C, Cocoa Touch, User Interface (UI) framework, as well as the use of various Application Program Interfaces (API) to build applications. Meets: Wednesdays, 6 to 9:50 p.m., from Aug. 22 to Dec. 12, in McAninch Arts Center, Room 182.

CIS 2840 is a three-hour advanced course in iPhone/iPad application programming and includes the use of Apple's System Development Kit (SDK) to develop and deploy data driven applications on iPhone/iPad. Additional topics include data modeling, creating databases using core data, SQLite and MySQL, interfaces to web services, application design, and the implementation of data driven applications.Creation of advanced iPhone/iPad applications. Meets: Mondays, 6 to 9:50 p.m., from Aug. 21 to Dec. 11, in Student Resource Center, Room 3683.
