Glen Ellyn Celebration at Panfish Park

GLEN ELLYN – Since 1965, Village Presidents have been honored with the planting of a tree in the Village Arboretum at Panfish Park. In 2002, a second tradition was born. Living Village Presidents would be called to assemble in the park once every decade to dedicate a tree in honor of those who served without this arboreal recognition from 1889 to 1965.

All are cordially invited to witness this event on Saturday, May 12 at 9 a.m. for this short-but-special second planting of a “decade” tree. Many former Village Presidents are expected to attend. The celebration will coincide with Arbor Day, the reopening of the Village's Arboretum and the dedication of Conduit 15, a sculpture received as a gift from College of DuPage. Refreshments will be served.

Panfish Park is located on Park Boulevard one block south of Roosevelt Road on the east side of the street. Please contact the Public Works Department at 630-469-6756 for further information.
