The Bloomingdale Park District has increased its active adult programming with the recent addition of Lunch Bunch, featuring lunch, dessert and drinks along with entertainment for the affordable price of $15.

The program, occurring twice seasonally, is held at the historic Bloomingdale Park District Museum, 108 S. Bloomingdale Road. The Museum is Bloomingdale’s oldest building, built in 1849 as the First Baptist Church of Christ.

The next Lunch Bunch event is noon to 1:30 p.m., May 24. The featured entertainment is The 45s, two friendly, talented and mature guys that sing music from the 50s and 60s. The duo entertains with humor, costumes, props and audience interaction.

Summer lunch dates are scheduled for June 14 (Ron and Sandie Sing and Swing Show) and Aug. 23 (The Dennis Colby Show).

According to 2010 U.S. Census Bureau data, Bloomingdale’s 45 and over population constitutes 44.3% of its total population. The largest age percentage is adults aged 45-54 (14.7%). The average age of the community is 41.8.
