Local Pastor to be featured on PBS April 14

The Rev. Dr. Lillian Daniel, senior minister at First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, UCC

The Rev. Dr. Lillian Daniel, senior minister at the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn since 2004, will be featured on the PBS television news-magazine program, Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly. The segment featuring Daniel is scheduled to air on PBS WTTW Prime channel 11 in Chicago on Saturday, April 14 at 6:00am. The program will also be available on-line at www.pbs.org/religion after Friday, April 13.

The segment featuring Daniel showcases the book she co-authored with the Rev. Martin Copenhaver, “This Odd and Wondrous Calling: The Public and Private Lives of Two Minsters,” which takes a humorous and honest look at the ministry. Daniel is a distinguished author and speaker; she also wrote, “Tell It Like It Is: Reclaiming the Practice of Testimony.” Additionally, Daniel is an editor at large for the Christian Century Magazine. Her work has also appeared in The Huffington Post, Christianity Today, Leadership Journal, Books and Culture, The Journal for Preachers and in the daily email devotionals of the United Church of Christ. A frequent speaker, Daniel recently preached at the National Cathedral, Duke Chapel, the Festival of Homiletics and delivered preaching lectures to clergy at King’s College, London and Queen’s College, Ontario.

Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly is a television program devoted entirely to the news of religion and spirituality, along with major ethical issues. The program is produced in New York City and filmed on location worldwide.
