Teen Parent Connection Seeks Volunteer Childcare Providers

Connect with young families and their children through community service. Teen Parent Connection is seeking volunteers ages 14 and over to provide childcare during Teen Parent Connection group sessions.

Responsibilities include supervising the childcare room at our group meetings and assuring the safety of the children. Childcare volunteers enjoy playing games with toddlers, holding infants, reading to children, and other fun activities. Volunteers are not required to change any diapers. A mandatory background check and fingerprinting are required. Some childcare experience is preferred.

Group Services, a core component of Teen Parent Connection’s Family Strengthening Programs, meet weekly and offer an opportunity for adolescent parents to socialize and discuss child development, parenting skills, and connect to community resources with the help of a group facilitator. Groups are offered at no charge, with childcare and meals provided. Last year, these programs served 209 teen parents and additionally their children.
