Village Theatre to Host Season of Concern Benefit

"Anything Cole" is the title given to this years fund raising effort. known as Season of Concern.
Village Theatre has played host to this benefit before. Several performers in this show are Village Theatre members. However, one has taken a leading role winning recognition for her work. For over 10 years, Karen Bronson has directed a cabaret-style benefit annually to raise money for Season of Concern, which is the Chicago-area theatre community's fundraising organization. All money raised by SOC goes directly to the care of those living with HIV, AIDS or a catastrophic illness. Karen has been so tireless and committed in her efforts through the years that she was honored by Season of Concern this year with the Advocate Award.

On Saturday, August 27 only two shows will give the audience an opportunity to listen to very talented singers. All artists in their own right, perform music by Cole Porter, one of the most prominent and prolific composers in the history of the Great American Songbook. In addition to Karen Bronson (Forest Park), the show features Mark Mavetz (Oak Park), Doug Orlyk (Bloomingdale), Debbie Roberts (Lockport) and Lori Skubich (Lombard). In addition, Stephen Rader (Chicago), the director of Season of Concern, will perform with us once again. There will be solos, duets, trios, quartets and all-group numbers; you'll probably recognize some-but not all-of the Porter tunes presented.

There will be two performances, both on Saturday, August 27th. It is a small cabaret style space. The suggested donation price is $20.

Following the shows, please join the cast for complimentary snacks and drinks.

Village Theatre Guild is located on the NW corner of Park and Butterfield roads in Glen Ellyn. Seating is limited. Please call 630-963-1183 soon to make your reservation.
