COD Architecture Program, DuPage Habitat Collaborate on Design Ideas for New Townhome Development

Jenny Arredondo, associate executive director of DuPage Habitat for Humanity (standing), conveys an idea about her team’s design to Ted Kulinski, College of DuPage assistant professor of architecture (left), and Nathan Hutt-Twiald (Naperville), COD Construction Management student, during the recent design charrette at College of DuPage. During the charrette, which is a French word to describe an intense design activity with a deadline, groups comprised of both architects from the American Institute of Architects – Northeast Illinois Chapter and COD students worked together to develop concepts for Prairie Green, a 16-unit sustainable and affordable townhouse development for DuPage Habitat for Humanity. Ideas were presented to Habitat officials at the end of the day. (Photo by Rich Malec/College of DuPage)
