The Wheaton Symphony Orchestra To Perform An Evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein

The Wheaton Symphony Orchestra will present an evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein” on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.  These concerts will be held at Glenbard South High School Auditorium, 23 W 200 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn, 60137.

Returning by popular demand will be soloists Christine Pfenninger – Soprano, Steven Lugovsky – Tenor, and Frank Roberts – Baritone.  Newcomer Amy Steele, Mezzo-Soprano, will be making her debut with the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra.  The conductor is Kevin McMahon.

Music will be from The King and I, Carousel, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, and Oklahoma.  You will hear songs such as “We Kiss In A Shadow,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “Some Enchanted Evening,”  “Climb Every Mountain,”  “The Surrey With the Fringe on Top,” and “People Will Say We’re in Love,” all accompanied by the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra, now celebrating its 52nd season.

Due to ticket demand, these shows are played on two nights.  Last year’s Lerner and Loewe concerts had standing ovations both nights.  Now, hear Rodgers and Hammerstein’s greatest hits in a comfortable auditorium with excellent acoustics.

Advance tickets are $28.  Call 630-790-1430 or visit Ticketweb.com.
