Police continue search for man who robbed pharmacy

Glen Ellyn police are continuing their search for a man who demanded prescription drugs while displaying a handgun at the Glen Ellyn Pharmacy on Friday.

Glen Ellyn Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer said Monday morning there are no current suspects and police are continuing the investigation.

Police said the man, who appeared to be in his 20s, came into the pharmacy at 486 Roosevelt Road about 10:30 a.m. Friday and demanded Oxycontin and at least two other kinds of drugs while displaying a handgun.

Holmer said three employees were in the store at the time, but no injuries were reported. The man did not point the gun at the employees, he said.

No surveillance video of the crime has been released. Employees said the suspect was a man wearing dark jeans, a green sweatshirt and carrying a backpack with the Chicago Bears logo, according to a statement from police.
