Riley Heating & Cooling, A Comfort 24-7.Com Heating and Cooling Provider, Fulfills Holiday Wishes With Free Furnaces To Three Deserving Families

Forest Park, Illinois, June 29, 2011 ¬– Comfort24-7.com, a new network of Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan neighborhood home heating and cooling experts, has completed its “Comfort to the People” goodwill campaign initiated last holiday season. The campaign provided more than 50 local families facing difficult circumstances with free furnaces installed in their homes.

Riley Heating & Cooling, which serves Chicago and the western suburbs, is one of the Comfort24-7 Providers that provided and installed a free furnace for three of the families selected as recipients of the “Comfort to the People” campaign. More than 300 written essays were submitted for consideration to Comfort24-7.com’s network of local heating and cooling providers, who then selected the deserving families in their areas who were facing unfortunate circumstances such as the loss of a family member, families of military personnel deployed overseas, and unemployed single parents. Beginning in January, local providers like Riley Heating & Cooling dispatched crews to replace failing furnaces with new ones free of charge.

Fred Kahn, General Manager of Riley Heating & Cooling, said, “We were extremely moved by the compelling stories we received about the plight of families in our service communities dealing with adversity. After reading the nomination essays submitted by families and neighbors, we felt three families from Chicago, North Riverside and Bensenville could really use a helping hand. So beginning in March we installed the first recipient’s furnace and installed the second and third furnaces in May and earlier this month.”

“Our deserving families included a family facing financial difficulties, a family caring for their ailing grandfather, and a third family whose father had been unemployed for an extended period of time,” explained Kahn. “After reading their nomination essays we knew we could help them and selected them as our deserving family recipients.”

Kahn noted that Riley Heating & Cooling, which was founded in 1934, has been an active and committed member of the local community since its inception. The company has been involved in a host of charitable endeavors and programs over the years and the “Comfort to the People” campaign was another example of helping people in the communities it serves. “We have built a reputation grounded on honesty and professional service, and we felt this program was an extension of our tradition of doing what’s right and being a good neighbor in our service communities. We’re very pleased we were in a position to help these families,” he said.
