As storms move out, cold front moves in

After a night of rolling thunderstorms, a cold front will move into the Chicago area today that could drop temperatures to the 50s along the lake this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The severe weather that brought flash flood warnings and hail up to an inch-and-a-half big will move out this morning, and storms developing in western Illinois will likely pass south of Chicago, National Weather Service meteorologist Mark Ratzer said.
