Around The World And Back Again

This holiday let McGaw YMCA fly you around the world for free; no passport needed, luggage flies free, and the meal is included. On December 11, 2010 the McGaw YMCA will make it possible for children and families to take a fun and interactive journey to learn about holiday traditions from around the world.

The International Family Festival is an annual event held in the Sebring-Lewis center. For over 15 years this event has provided a way for children to gather and learn about different cultures and holiday traditions spanning 25 countries.

Children and families can visit different international booths while enjoying engaging learning experiences about different cultures, countries, and religious traditions. Arts and crafts, gingerbread village, activities, and live entertainment make this educational experience fun and entertaining for both the kids and parents. Some of the performances include The Chicago Sprit Brigade, ONI Junior high Alt Band, and Evanston Escola de Samba.

This event is free to the community and also includes a free hot dog lunch provided by the Kiwanis clubs of Evanston, free holiday nail sets and holiday hair styles by the students at Pivot Point Intl., pictures with Santa, and over $500 worth of giveaways.
