Puppy adopted by soldier in Afghanistan arrives in Chicago

After traveling halfway around the world, Leonidas – Leo for short – a puppy adopted by a soldier in Afghanistan arrived at O’Hare Airport on Sunday. Leo was picked up by Kaydee Johannsen, the wife of Army Sgt. Tim Johannsen, who is stationed at an undisclosed location in Afghanistan. The sergeant adopted Leo, who wandered into his camp looking for food, after he saw a pack of dogs ganging up on the puppy. The two became inseparable and Sgt. Johannsen vowed to not leave his dog behind. When Leo arrived on Sunday he came through on that promise. (Read full story)
