Kingsley sixth-graders celebrate at Medieval Feast

The lords and ladies were out in full force at Kingsley School June 1, when the sixth graders participated in the much-anticipated annual Medieval Feast.

The feast is the culmination of a social studies unit on the Middle Ages, and it allows the students to put together and apply what they've learned. For example, they learned about guilds--a precursor to committees--and they were organized into guilds to put together portions of the feast, such as decorations.

Students provided the entertainment; acts included songs, dances, and several numbers performed by the Kingsley band.

The Kingsley PTA donates all the food for the event, and parents also act as the kitchen staff and servers that day.

This year’s King Arthur and Queen Guinevere were portrayed by Nick Serpico and Jami Leach. They were joined at the head table by Zack Kargol (Lord of the Castle), Cara Luckett (Lady of the Castle), Sam Kirk (Sir Lancelot), Olivia Porcaro (Lady Elaine), Kevin O’Sullivan (Merlin) and Meredith Mahoney (Bishop).
