Fair Trade Holiday Boutique – A Huge Success!

The Christ United Methodist Church Deerfield Fair Trade Holiday Boutique held on November 12 drew a steady stream of holiday shoppers who walked away with bags of gifts and newly found personal treasures.

Fair Trade ensures participating cooperatives and solo artisans in developing countries a higher price for their goods, thereby offering opportunity for a better way of life. CUMC's event featured products from SERRV, Ten Thousand Villages and Bead For Life.

Pastor Brian Roots welcomes the Fair Trade events, and event organizer Karen Whisler said, "It was a huge success and we hope that next year's is twice as big. We hope we can spread the word of the meaning of Fair Trade."
