DUI

A 26-year-old Bolingbrook man from the 300 block of Thistle Drive was arrested May 5 for aggravated DUI after police determined he had two passengers younger than 16 in the car. He is scheduled to appear at a May 30 preliminary hearing on the felony charge, as well as charges of driving more than 40 mph above the speed limit and failing to signal.

Crashes

A 34-year-old Bolingbrook woman from the 1000 block of Ridgewood Drive was booked May 4 into the Adult Detention Facility, where she is serving 90 days as part of her sentence on a conviction for a January 2011 DUI in Bolingbrook. She received a suspended 18-month sentence on April 26 after pleading guilty to the offense in January 2011 and to driving on a suspended license eleven months later. Charges related to the DUI – illegally transporting alcohol and leaving a crash scene – were dismissed.

A 24-year-old Bolingbrook man from the 200 block of Pueblo Drive was arraigned May 3 on charges of aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, improper lane use, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, leaving a crash scene and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in connection with a March 30 collision.

Public Violence

A homeless 21-year-old Bolingbrook woman was arrested May 6 and charged with aggravated battery to a pregnant or handicapped person. She is scheduled to appear in court May 29 and remained in the Adult Detention Facility May 10 in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Drug-Related

A 20-year-old Plano woman was arrested May 8 for manufacture/delivery of 1-15 grams of heroin and possession of a controlled substance during a 3:40 p.m. traffic stop on the 600 block of Ashbury Lane for disregarding a stop sign. Police reportedly recovered several small bags containing a total of five grams of heroin after a search of the vehicle, sparked by the woman’s “furtive movements” and her “excessively nervous” demeanor. Police also seized her car. She is scheduled to appear in court June 4.
