'Mad Chefs' win books for crazy creations

Teens and tweens who attended Aurora Public Library's Mad Chef program on June 7 at the Main location didn't know what secret ingredient they would be using to create a treat until they arrived at the program.
Each chef received two Twinkies to make into a delicious masterpiece. They also had a number of sauces and sprinkles they could use, including chocolate sauce, Nutella, peanut butter, Hershey Kisses, Nerds, ketchup, mustard, and more.
Each entrant who successfully took a healthy bite of his or her creation got to choose a book as a prize.
Coming up Wednesday, July 18, is Live Action Candyland at the Main Library for all ages. The program runs at both 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and is exactly what its title says it is: a life-sized version of the children's game Candyland! Call 630-264-4100 for more information.
