Black History Month Celebration featured quiz, crafts and cobbler

The Aurora Public Library's Eola Road Branch hosted a Black History Month program on Feb. 19 that had something for children and adults alike.
Parents and their children had fun testing their knowledge about African-American history with a quiz that asked questions like, "Who was the first African-American to win the Grand Slam of Tennis?" and, "What scientist and inventor introduced more than 300 uses for the peanut?"
Children also were invited to color a picture of a crayon to tape onto the library's box of colorful crayons.
Photojournalist Donnell Collins gave a talk on the creation of his "Skillets" photo exhibit, and everyone was treated to peach cobbler and sweet potato pie to close out the afternoon.
(Quiz answers: 1.) Arthur Ashe and 2.)George Washington Carver)
