Federal reports show where political money is as campaigns gear up for general election

For the fall, campaign finance reports indicated the matchup in the new west and southwest suburban 11th District will be an expensive contest, pitting seven-term incumbent Republican Rep. Judy Biggert, of Hinsdale, against former one-term Democratic Rep. Bill Foster, of Naperville.

Biggert began April with more than $1 million in her campaign fund, while Foster began the month with $994,097 available.
