Santorum, Romney fight for conservative voters in Illinois

In a battle for conservative voters, Republican presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney focused today on Downstate Illinois, far from the biggest media market of Chicago.

After campaigning in Missouri earlier in the day, Rick Santorum spoke at a rally in Effingham, a manufacturing and transportation community of about 12,000 residents in rural southeastern Illinois, about 75 miles south of Champaign.
