Democrats raise nearly $2 million for primary to face Walsh

Democrats Raja Krishnamoorthi and Tammy Duckworth have raised a combined $1.95 million for their congressional campaigns setting the stage for an intense March 20 primary battle with the winner taking on tea party-backed Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh.

Campaign finance records filed with the Federal Election Commission show both have been aggressive fundraisers as they campaign in the newly drawn, Democratic-leaning 8th Congressional District in the northwest suburbs.
