St. Peter holds 50th annual rummage sale June 16-18

St. Peter School, 556 Lake St., Antioch, will hold its 50th annual rummage sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“The sale has a special significance to the people of Antioch and surrounding areas,” said Donna Trenda, the sale’s chairwoman. “It’s been here for 50 years.  It’s a great marketplace for those who are looking for treasures.”

Among the items for sale will be electronics, appliances, jewelry, antiques, books, clothing, furniture and even boats. A new boutique will feature bridal gowns among other clothing and accessories for the bridal party and family.

“There will be 25 brand new wedding gowns,” said Kathleen Racine, one of the sale’s organizers. “We’ll have a dressing area with a mirror. It’s unique at a rummage sale.”

St. Peter hosts one of  Lake County’s largest rummage sales. Residents from Chicago as well as Wisconsin often come to the event.

The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., June 16 and 17 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8. Between 2 and 4 p.m., on June 8, visitors can enjoy reductions on remaining items.
