Woodridge Rotary To Hold an Evening of Jazz Off the Dock at Seven Bridges Golf Club
Posted 12/31/69

Join the Woodridge Rotary Club on Sunday, October 3, for its first music fundraising event for the Woodridge Community Resource Center. Featuring Woodridge jazz musician John Kattke (aka Brother John) and his Band, the event at Seven Bridges Golf Club will include an evening of dinner and jazz. Weather permitting, the event will be held outside on the Dock and verandah of Seven Bridges. There will be raffles as well to add to the fun. Seven Bridges will make available 1/2 priced bottles of wine and a cash bar at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the band will play at 6:30.

Brother John's Band regularly plays at Buddy Guy's Legends. John Kattke has played with Eric Clapton, Maceo Parker, Black Crowes, George Benson, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor and Otis Rush.  More about Brother John’s Band can be found at www.brotherjohn.com

This is the Woodridge Rotary Club’s first time having an event strictly to raise funds for one particular organization in the community. The Club supports the CRC’s mission of providing quality programs and services to strengthen family values in a population of Woodridge that does not always have such opportunities. The CRC partners with many community organizations and agencies in their efforts to provide homework assistance, language and computer literacy, art appreciation classes, team building activities, violence prevention, and cultural diversity appreciation workshops, to name a few.

Tickets are limited in number and will go on sale Sept. 10 for $65 per person. Checks or cash only. No tickets sold at the door.
