Professional mask-maker Jeff Semmerling spent two weeks as an artist in residence at McKenzie School in Wilmette. Jeff is a Chicago-based artist whose masks can be seen in theatre, opera, and on television. On April 2nd, he engaged the students with his artistry and theatrical presentation at two interactive assemblies where students learned about the fun and influence of the mask in different cultures. Students had the opportunity to produce their own masks and show them off as well.
