Riveredge Hospital Hosts Free Resource Fair for Community Agencies and Providers

Riveredge Hospital recently hosted a free Resource Fair Thursday, Septermeber 24, welcoming social service agencies, treatment providers and community partners. The Resource Fair featured more than 50 booths with health care professionals and human service providers offering information on a variety of topics. Representatives from DCFS, Mercy Home for Girls and Boys, the Cook County Department of Public Health, Mt. Sinai, Gateway Foundaion, Alternative Schools Network and others joined Riveredge Hospital staff and Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County at the event.

The fair also included networking and professional development opportunities such as continuing education units as well as time for meet and greet during the days' breakfast and lunch portions. Highlights included a presentation on “Understanding Trauma Informed Care” by Mike Gara, Psy.D and COO of Riveredge Hospital.

The annual Resource Fair is designed to improve the region’s health care and auxiliary services through collaboration, information sharing and community partnerships among local non-profit and service organizations.
