The Twisters Elite F5 Hip-Hop dance team was awarded a bid to compete for the World Championship title at the 2010 Dance Worlds Championships. The competition will be held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, April 23rd through April 25th.
The Twisters Elite dance team earned their bid this past weekend at the UPA Americup Cheer and Dance National Championships in Minneapolis, MN. The competition had over 400 performances and over 3000 athletes from 3 different countries at the 3 day event.
The squad had to compete with other dance teams from Canada, Mexico, and the US for one of the 13 bids that were offered. Lead by head coach Gia Lindsey, the 13 member dance team had an outstanding performance and ended up with one of the top 13 scores of the competition, which earned them the bid. Twisters Elite is only one of a few dance teams that were awarded a bid from Illinois.
More than 450 teams from 43 states and 40 countries will be heading off to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando to compete in 2010 Dance Worlds, an event showcasing National champions from dance gyms and clubs from around the country and from around the world.
Twisters Elite All-Star Cheer and Dance is the leading cheer and dance program in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The only cheer and dance program in Illinois that was awarded a bid to compete at the 2010 Worlds Championships in both cheer and dance. Twisters Elite has over 200 athletes, ranging from ages 4 to 18, on 7 different cheer squads and 3 dance teams.
