The Twisters Elite Hurricanes squad was awarded a bid to compete for the World Championship title at the 2010 Cheerleading Worlds Championships. The competition will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, April 23rd through April 25th..
The Hurricanes earned their bid this past weekend at the UPA Americup Cheer and Dance National Championships in Minneapolis, MN. The squad had to compete with 12 other cheer squads, some from as far as California, for one of the 4 bids that were offered. The Hurricanes had a great performance and ended up with the 3rd highest score of the competition, which earned them the bid.
The Hurricanes will be competing in the Large Senior Limited Co-Ed Division. Out of the hundreds of squads that have completed around the country for one of these highly coveted bids, they are one of only 20 teams that have earned a bid to compete for the title in this division
The Twisters Elite Hurricanes squad is quickly gaining national recognition as one of the top cheer squads in the country. Last year, the Hurricanes were the only local cheer squad highlighted on the ESPN national broadcast of the National All-Star Cheerleading Championships. Earning this bid to the Cheerleading Worlds Championship solidifies the squad’s status as one of the top cheer squads in the nation.
