The Twisters Elite cheer program claimed victory this past weekend by winning 7 National Championship titles in 7 different divisions at the UPA Americup Cheer and Dance National Championships held in Minneapolis this past weekend. The competition had over 400 performances and over 3000 athletes from 3 different countries at the 3 day event.
The program sent 7 different cheer squads to this completion, with all 7 squads returning home with a National Championship banner. The National Championships were won in the Tiny 1, Mini 1, Youth 2, Junior 3, Senior 2, Senior Open 5, and Senior Limited Co-ed 5 divisions.
Five of the squads advanced to the Grand Championship round. The Breeze squad, competing in the Tiny division, captured their first Grand Championship of the season. The Whirlwinds squad, competing in the Mini 1 division, had a very strong performance in the Grand Championship round to defeat a Mini 2 team from South Dakota for their second Mini division Grand Championship of the season. The Fury squad, competing in the Junior division, placed 2nd out of seven squads Not to be outdone, the Vortex squad, competing in the Senior 2 division, scored higher than all Senior 3 and a number Senior 4 squads to advance to the Grand Championship round, where they completed against Senior 5 squads. The Vortex squad finished a very respectable 7th place.
Twisters Elite All-Star Cheer and Dance is the leading cheer and dance program in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
