Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center's Yoga Instructor Extraordinaire: Carole McKeon
Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center's Yoga Instructor Extraordinaire Carole McKeon

Long-time Lake Forest resident and yogini extraordinaire, Carole McKeon, was recently selected to be an "Ambassador" for Lululemon Athletica. Several Lululemon representatives recently attended one of her very popular classes at Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center (30 or more devoted students show up twice a week for her Power Yoga classes) and surprised her with a dozen roses and announced the honor.

"I love teaching yoga because it allows me to share my passion with others. Yoga isn't about the perfect pose. It's about being present, accepting yourself as you are, and about connecting your mind/body and spirit.," reflected Carole who has been teaching yoga for 13 years and helped establish the yoga program at LFHFC.

"I was very surprised, and honored, when Lululemon asked me to be a Yoga Ambassador for their Northbrook Court store. Their yoga-inspired athletic apparel is beautiful and very well-made," added Carole. "I like the company's mission statement, helping people live longer, healthier and more fun lives."

"Our company aligns itself with 'rock star instructors' who make a huge impact in their community," said Elizabeth Cox, Lululemon Northbrook Court Store Manager. "Carole is the essence of what we look for...she is very involved in her community with great philanthropic efforts. Electing Carole to be our Lululemon Ambassador was a very natural alignment of what our company believes in because of who she is and what she does in her community every day. We consider LFHFC to be a great facility in our community as well and this was another reason we chose to select an Ambassador from their club."

"Lululemon is very active in many communities, and honors a very select number of instructors in Chicagoland who they feel are not only tops in their field, but are examples to all of us in how they live their lives," said Lisa Hamilton, LFHFC Group Fitness Director. "I can think of no one who deserves this more than Carole. The only quality greater than her expertise and kindness, is her humility. Carole is th kind of teacher who is always willing to share her talents and heart with others."

"It is an honor for Lake Forest Health & Fitness to have Carole in this role; she is a symbol of the high standard of quality programming we aspire to give all our members and just one example of our many highly-talented staff members who are experts in their field," added John Oei, Executive Director of Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center.

LFHFC offers it's members over 27 yoga classes to choose from each week. For more information about the Mind/Body Program or to take a class with Carole, call Lisa Hamilton at 847-535-7173.
