Are you willing to make a difference in saving someone’s life?

Cedric Howard was the Assistant Fitness Director of the Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center. A little less than a year ago, Cedric was diagnosed with MDS (Myeldoysplastic Syndrome) often known as “pre-leukemia.” In order for Cedric to get better he needed a bone marrow transplant.

Due to the limited number of minority donors in the registry, Cedric’s doctors were unable to find a perfect match. Cedric passed away on September 25, 2009 before a proper donor could be found.

Every day, 6,000 people like Cedric search the National Donor Marrow Registry in search for a cure for their life threatening condition. For minorities, the search is even more difficult because the number of registered donors is significantly less than most groups.

Along with support from Cedric’s family, his team at the health club, and you, we can spread the awareness about the Donor Marrow Registry. Please help us spread the word about how important it is for people to be aware of this serious illness because everyone can take part in saving someone’s life.
