HINSDALE ROTARY INSTALLS 2009-10 OFFICERS, DIRECTORS
At the Rotary Club of Hinsdale Annual Dinner, held June 30 at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook, the club installed its officers for 2009-10. The slate includes: Jerry Cerniak of Downers Grove, president; Janet Klotz of Clarendon Hills, first vice-president and president-elect; Mike Sedlak of Orland Park, second vice-president; James Curto of Western Springs, secretary; Chuck Snyder of Hinsdale, treasurer; Greg Siedlecki of Countryside, sergeant at arms; Roger Herring of Western Springs, immediate past president; and Scott Donars of Hinsdale, The Wheel editor. Outgoing President Roger Herring named Hinsdale resident Gregory Donnelly as recipient of the 2009 Rotarian of the Year award at the dinner. Donnelly, a member since 2001 and a past president, was honored for volunteerism and leadership. Members of the Board of Directors include: Nancy Dalzell of Worth, Robert Parsons of LaGrange Park, John Lowry of Downers Grove, Michael James of Downers Grove, Richard Barton of Burr Ridge, Carolyn Snyder of Hinsdale, Allan Alongi of Clarendon Hills, Caryl Anderson of Downers Grove and Rita DuChateau of Hinsdale. This year, Rotary Club of Hinsdale will celebrate 50 years of service with a Thursday, Aug. 20 public ceremony to dedicate a clock tower in downtown Hinsdale and a Friday, Aug. 21 dinner for members and invited guests. Club members have raised $35,000 for the clock through the sale of engraved brick pavers. Bricks may be ordered by calling Roger Herring at (630) 640-7649.
