Congresswoman Judy Biggert helps celebrate Salt Creek Ballet's 25th Anniversary
Salt Creek Ballet opened its 25th Anniversary Season with "Swan Lake, Act II" at the McAninch Arts Center, College of DuPage over the weekend (April 10th &11th). The Sunday performance was attended by Congresswoman Judy Biggert, now an Honorary Board member of Salt Creek Ballet after joining the board as a director in 1990. Ms. Biggert also attended a Sunday pre-performance talk featuring Artistic Director Sergey Kozadayev and hosted by Lucia Mauro, a well respected dance writer, critic and historian. Thanks to the support of the Community Arts Access Regrant, funded by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and Hinsdale Center for the Arts; and Target, second grade students of Manning School in Westmont were also invited to attend the performance free of charge as part of the Salt Creek Ballet - CUSD201 collaborative arts education program, Literacy through Dance.
