The Storyteller's Voice: A Literary Evening at the Glenview Public Library

The Storyteller: Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow

On Tuesday, April 14, the Glenview Public Library hosted a delightfully entertaining program, The Storyteller’s Voice, featuring guest author, Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow and a delicious chocolate buffet served in honor of National Library Week and the Library’s April theme, Bringing Books to Life.

Over 50 program attendees listened to writer, adult storyteller, and founding general manager of WYCC-TV/PBS, Elynne Chaplik-Aleskow read several stories from her published short story anthologies, which include “Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lover’s Soul,” “Forever Friends,” "The Wisdom of Old Souls," My Dad is My Hero," and “The Ultimate Teacher.”

The program was an ideal expression of the Glenview Public Library’s core mission to educate, enrich, inspire and entertain. Elynne’s power as a writer coupled with her dramatic story-telling is a true gift and testament to her generous spirit which she shared with friends, family, students, and strangers resulting in a wonderful evening of storytelling and chocolate bliss.
