The Kane County state's attorney has been named a circuit court judge, officials said today.

State's attorney John A. Barsanti was appointed by the state Supreme Court as a judge in the 16th Judicial Circuit, effective Dec. 1, according to a release from his office and a spokesman for the Supreme Court.
