Musicians find home at Main and Hinman
Two years ago, Evanston resident Thomas Cray had the idea to start an open mic night at his local coffee shop, Brothers K Coffeehouse on Main Street and Hinman Avenue. With the blessing and support of owners Brian and John Kim, Cray has turned that idea into First Saturdays, a thriving monthly showcase for amateur musicians. —Jonathan Bullington, Triblocal.com reporter

This is such a wonderful opportunity for musicians. I'm gonna have to check this out. I play flute with the Deerfield Community Concert Band, and have been a flutist for over 30 years now. I also teach flute, and I'm really intrigued by this.
I have two kids who are really into music - I'm gonna get them to this as well - maybe I'll even get them on the open mic!
