Patrick Keenan-Devlin and Supporters Join “Bike the Ridge”
Patrick Keenan-Devlin and his enthusiastic supporters

A large group of energized supporters of Patrick Keenan-Devlin, candidate for the Democratic nomination for State Representative in the 18th legislative district, rode in the second annual “Bike the Ridge” event on Sunday, Oct. 4. Every supporter was wearing a “New Way for Illinois” T-shirt. The “New Way” contingent was the largest group in the ride! Check them out at www.patrickforillinois.com/blog/
Riders started at Howard Street at the southern edge of Evanston and rode up Ridge Avenue to Church Street. The avenue was closed to all vehicular traffic. Hundreds of bike riders of all ages joined in the event. The bike ride took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Keenan-Devlin's supporters also stopped after the race at several parks along Ridge Avenue to gather signatures in his petition drive and pass out campaign literature.
Keenan-Devlin, an experienced Springfield advocate, served as legislative director of Citizen Action/Illinois and as health policy advocate for the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law. A community activist, he is on the boards of numerous 18th district organizations, including the United Way of Evanston, the Sheil Catholic Center of Evanston, the League of Women Voters of Evanston, the Democratic Party of Evanston and the New Trier Democratic Organization.
Activists for health care, LGBT issues and women’s issues have been holding events in support of Keenan-Devlin’s candidacy.
The campaign’s office is open 4 pm – 8 pm on weekday evenings, 11 am to 6 pm on Saturdays, and 12 pm – 8 pm on Sundays, and is located at 1630 Orrington, in Evanston.
