St. Joseph School invites all alumni and their families to join them as the school celebrates their Centennial year with an Alumni Mass on Sunday, March 21st at 12:15 p.m. The Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, located at the corner of Main Street and Prairie Avenue in Downers Grove. A light reception will follow.

School President and alumnus Sr. Dorothy Randall is looking forward to the event. "This is such a wonderful opportunity to gather all of our alumni in celebration of the past 100 years." The school hopes that alumni will share their talents at the event. "We look forward to our talented alumni sharing in the celebration through cantoring, liturgical involvement, choir, handbells or as instrumentalists," added Sr Dorothy.

Alumnus and current school parent Kathleen (King) Buck has been instrumental in the organizing of this event. "We have involved several alumni in the creation of this celebration. We are especially looking for old photos to share at the event." The school is looking forward to a good turnout at the event. "Hundreds returned to last year's Alumni Mass in honor of their third grade teacher, Miss Angelita Gaffud. We expect just as large a celebration!" Buck and the Alumni Committee are planning additional events for the centennial year. "We are also planning a July 4th gathering as well as an 'All School-Year Alumni Centennial Gala' being planned for Friday, September 10th. These opportunities provide an opportunity for old friends to reconnect and share memories."

The school is asking alumni to contact the school if they would like a liturgical role in the upcoming Mass. "We look forward to seeing our alumni return once again to continue in our celebrations," said Sr. Dorothy.
